We Are the Same Under the Sky (2021-22, 11:09 min) is an avant-garde narrative intertwining spoken and body language, memory, and displacement. Layering paintings and drawings over 8mm home movies from Haiti, Benin, and Jamaica, the film combines experimental sounds, invented languages, and performances.

Drawing from silent film techniques, the project juxtaposes musical scores with unspoken cues and textual captions. A hybrid language emerges, fusing French, English, Haitian Creole, and Jamaican Patois, enriched by Caribbean literature and myths. The soundtrack, inspired by John Cage, features an eclectic blend of Haitian, French, and European sounds, interwoven with hip-hop elements.
