Media: oil on linen and cotton.

The pain/T series (2000-2015) serves as a therapeutic and revolutionary archive of landscapes marred by trauma. Inspired by my time in Germany, the series immortalizes haunting memories, including a vicious attack by neo-Nazis that led to memory loss. My recovery journey involved painting these landscapes, turning them into sanctuaries where "the ground is soaked in blood." Through an innovative color-coded technique, I capture fragmented memories, setting each narrative at the time of the attack—11:00am. As Barnett Newman said, an artist paints landscapes "not just to have something to look at but also to have something to read." The series invites viewers to explore the transformative power of art in understanding the depths of human trauma and resilience.
