By magnifying the issue of colorism, it brings to light biases favoring Western beauty ideals that still shape perceptions within ethnic groups. Originating from the scars of European imperialism, these communities have adopted skin-tone hierarchies, leading to intra-community bias. Using satire, the series compels viewers to challenge their prejudices and reflect on the legacy of such biases. "The Paper Bag Test: White Noise" pushes for a broader definition of beauty beyond skin tone, prompting both aesthetic appreciation and a reevaluation of deep-seated beliefs. |
